As future educators, post below 5-7 words that YOU think describe a safe and equitable environment for students who come from low-socioeconomic (SES) communities.
Out of those 5-7 words, pick TWO or THREE words that stand out to you and explain why you chose those words and why they stand out.

1. acceptance, positive, compassionate, understanding, supportive
2. I think acceptance, compassionate, and supportive are the three words I think stand out and are a good leading example to show our students that we need to have these traits in our classroom as well as personal values

inclusive and assessable
Inclusive stands out to me because it is all about making education sustainable for students of all abilities, backgrounds, and cultures. Teaching should revolve around each and every child’s skillsets and making sure that each child feels as though they are included in their own learning. No child should ever feel as if their voice is not being uplifted.
Assessable stands out to me because students are coming from different socioeconomic backgrounds and making technology assessable at home is crucial for a child’s learning and retention of course material. Making sure that students’ different needs like learning disabilities are being recognised is extremely important to implement within classrooms too.
